The Sri Ramachandra University (SRU), Chennai has released an admission notification, inviting applications from candidates to apply for admission in MBBS/BDS courses. The candidates interested in applying for these programmes must have studied in a recognised school and passed class 12 examination/equivalent examination.

- Every candidate must possess the qualifications and fulfill all criteria prescribed by the MCI/DCI, at the time of joining the course concerned.
- Medical Councilof India norms for admission to MBBS:
Candidates must have studied in a recognized School and passed H.S.C (+2) examination/equivalent examination and obtained a minimum of 50% of marks (in case of SC/ST & OBC 40%) taking together Physics, Chemistry and Biology (or Botany & Zoology)/ Biotechnologyand a pass in English. - Dental Council of Indianorms for admission to BDS:
Candidates must have studied in a recognized School and passed H.S.C.(+2) examination/equivalent examination and obtained a minimum of 50% of marks (in case of SC/ST & OBC 40%) taking together Physics, Chemistry and Biology (or Botany & Zoology) and a pass in English. - As per orders of the Hon’ble Supreme Court, in order to be eligible for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses for the academic year 2016-17, it shall be necessary for a candidate to have appeared for and obtained the prescribed marks in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET (UG) 2016).
Note: Mere appearance in NEET-I & NEET-II does not confer any right to the candidate for admission in MBBS/BDS Courses. The selection and admission of candidates to MBBS/BDS course in Sri Ramachandra University is subject to fulfilling the admission criteria, eligibility, All India rank in NEET (UG-2016) merit list, medical fitness and such other criteria as may be prescribed by the Government of India, MCI/DCI and Sri Ramachandra University.
ELIGIBILITY CERTIFICATE:
Candidates who have passed qualifying examination other than H.S.C. (+2) (Academic Stream) Examination of Tamil Nadu, Board of Higher Secondary Education should obtain Eligibility Certificate from Sri RamachandraUniversity, Chennai on payment of prescribed fee and produce it at the time of admission.
AGE LIMIT:
Candidates should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December, 2016. Date of birth entered in the Mark Statement of HSC/CBSE/ISC or its equivalent Examinations or in the Birth Certificate or Passport shall be taken for computingthe age of the candidates.
- Candidates will be admitted to MBBS/BDS course, based on the All India Overall Rank merit list of the qualified candidates as prepared by the CBSE on the basis of the marks obtained by them in the National Eligibility-cum Entrance Test NEET (UG)-2016.
- All other existing prescribed eligibility criteria for admission to MBBS / BDS degree courses shall be applicable.
ONLINE APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION TO MBBS/BDS COURSE – 2016-17

[Candidates who have applied for All India Entrance Examination of Sri Ramachandra University in May 2016 need to apply again, if they so desire]
- Read carefully important instructions and information given in the ‘Prospectus' before filling the application form. This is available in the University website www.sriramachandra.edu.in to download from admission page and click on 'Apply Online' icon.
- Create an email ID if you do not have one. All communication will be sent by email only. It is your responsibility to ensure that the Email id is correct. The e-mail should be verifiable online.
Candidates desirous of applying for both MBBS and BDS degree course should submit separate online applications USING DIFFERENT E-MAIL IDs.
- You must keep a soft copy of your photograph and signature ready before filling the application form as you need to upload it during the application process.
Candidate should have scanned images of his/her Photograph same photo as in the NEET application (size of 10 Kb to 100 Kb), Signature (size of 3 Kb to 20 Kb) in JPG format only, for uploading as part of submission of online application. - Please note that this entire application form is to be submitted online. If the application process gets interrupted after you submit the basic information or at "upload photo and signature", you can sign in again using your application number and date of birth. If you did not note your application number, you must go to your Email ID verification mail and retrieve it. You should then proceed to click on 'Check Application Status', enter the details to proceed further.
- Please do not send the hard copy of your application form to the Registrar's Office.
- For NRI/Foreign Nationals category of candidates, separate application available in the Sri Ramachandra University website, which is to be submitted online.
